The skills that define a great product career aren't what they were three years ago. AI has rewritten day-to-day workflows. Roles that used to be one job are splitting into several, and specializations that barely existed are now on job descriptions. The half-life of "I'm good at this" is shrinking fast.

That creates a real problem: how do you prove what you can do when the ground keeps shifting? A portfolio shows a moment in time. A job title says where you sat, not what you're capable of. And most external certifications are either priced like a bootcamp or disconnected from the work you actually do.

Today we're launching Certified by Uxcel, a standalone credential built to keep pace with how product careers really evolve. It's a way to turn the skills you've been building on Uxcel into verifiable proof, backed by rigorous, role-relevant exams.

Why we built this

Why Certified by Uxcel: credibility, a foundation to build on, a place to start

For years, Uxcel has helped over half a million people build product skills through practical, bite-sized learning. Certification is the natural next step: not just learning something, but being able to stand behind it.

We built Certified by Uxcel around three ideas.

Credibility you can point to. A Uxcel credential is a clear, verifiable signal. It works for your current manager when it's time to make the case for a promotion, and for a future employer when you're competing for the next role.

A foundation you can build on. Your career isn't one skill; it's a stack. Certified by Uxcel lets you establish credibility in your core role and then layer specializations on top as your work deepens and your interests grow.

A place to start, wherever you are. Whether you're just getting into the field, moving in from an adjacent one, or showing an employer you've got the fundamentals of an emerging area, there's an entry point that fits.

Three certification types for any stage of your career

Certifications are organized into three tiers so you can match the credential to where you are in your career.

Foundational: show you know the fundamentals

Example Foundational certificate: Uxcel Certified AI Practitioner

For people getting started or switching in. Foundational certifications demonstrate solid literacy across a discipline: the concepts, vocabulary, and judgment that prove you can hold your own. Examples include Uxcel Certified UX Practitioner, Product Practitioner, and AI Practitioner, the last of which is a great way to show employers you understand AI and how it applies to real work.

Professional: prove you're ready for the role

Example Professional certificate: Uxcel Certified Product Manager

For people doing the job, or ready to. Professional certifications go beyond recall into applied, scenario-based judgment, the kind of thinking the role actually demands end to end. Examples include Uxcel Certified Product Designer and Uxcel Certified Product Manager.

Speciality: go deep in a discipline

Example Speciality certificate: Uxcel Certified AI Product Design

For people who want to demonstrate real depth in a specific area. Speciality certifications cover the trade-offs, edge cases, and expertise that separate competent from expert. This is where you add specializations on top of your core role: think Uxcel Certified Accessibility, UX Research, Design Thinking, Product Analytics, AI Product Design, and Figma.

Most people will earn a certification that reflects their main role, then add a speciality or two that reflect where they're taking their career next.

How it works

Each certification is a timed, exam-based assessment designed to be a genuine test of skill, not a formality.

  • Right-sized exams. Foundational exams are 65 questions in 65 minutes. Professional and Speciality exams are 80 questions in 80 minutes, roughly a minute per question.
  • A consistent bar. You need 70% to pass, across every tier. Difficulty comes from the questions themselves, not from moving the goalposts. Foundational leans toward fundamentals, while Professional and Speciality weight harder, applied problems.
  • Credentials that last. Each certification is valid for three years and comes with a verifiable credential you can share on your résumé, LinkedIn, and with employers.
