Shipping a product nobody needs is a surprisingly easy mistake to make, and an expensive one. Teams jump into solutions before understanding the problem, rely on assumptions instead of evidence, and end up shipping features that users never asked for. Product discovery exists to fix that pattern.
This course teaches you how to approach discovery as a continuous practice, not a one-time kickoff activity. You will learn how to run customer interviews that go beyond surface-level answers and surface the real needs, frustrations, and behaviors driving your users. From there, you will explore how to turn those insights into clearly defined opportunities, so your team stops debating priorities and starts focusing on work that moves the needle.
You will also learn how to test your assumptions before committing resources to them. Through prototyping and structured validation methods, you will understand how to challenge your own ideas early and iterate based on what you find, rather than what you hoped would be true. The course covers how to align discovery work with business outcomes, so the solutions you pursue are both user-centered and strategically sound.
By the end, you will have a practical framework for replacing guesswork with a structured, repeatable process. Whether you are new to product discovery or looking to sharpen an existing practice, this course gives you the tools to make smarter product decisions and build with real confidence.

I’m Paulo Garcia, a product leader and educator with over 10 years of experience building and scaling digital products across education, e-commerce, and marketplaces. I currently work as Principal of Product Management at Twinkl, where I help shape learning platforms such as the Learning Management System (LMS) and Curriculum Architect, used by teachers, learners, and schools.
Previously, I worked at FARFETCH and IKEA, contributing to global marketplace platforms, e-commerce and loyalty experiences, mobile apps, and internal tools that support large-scale operations. Alongside my product work, I teach and mentor on digital literacy, product thinking, and technology’s impact on everyday life, with a strong focus on practical, human-centred learning.
My career began with an MSc in Computer Science and has since evolved across multiple product disciplines, including UX and UI design, web development, project management, and product operations.
