About this course

Most product management content assumes the best case. Great stakeholders. Clean data. Best idea wins the room. That's not the job most product managers actually do.
The real job looks like this: someone runs to your desk demanding something urgent that isn't, a whale client hijacks your roadmap, two features score the same in RICE and you still have to pick one, and nobody taught you how to sunset the product you shipped two years ago. The decisions pile up. The frameworks don't always help. And as you grow, the cost of getting it wrong grows with you.
This course is built around that reality. It covers three levels of product decision-making, each building on the one before. At the tactical level, you develop the mental models to move fast without breaking things: reversible vs. irreversible decisions, how to match experiment fidelity to risk, how to prioritize without turning every context into a RICE spreadsheet, and how to calculate the cost of delay before it quietly eats your quarter.

At the business level, you shift from ranking features to placing bets. You learn to write business cases using LTV, churn, and sensitivity analysis, navigate B2B and B2C trade-offs, and manage your portfolio without spreading your team too thin across too many competing priorities. The lifecycle of a product, including the uncomfortable art of sunsetting features without destroying user trust, is covered here, too.

At the influence level, you develop the tools to navigate the shadow org chart, pre-wire key decisions before the meeting starts, handle bad news with radical candor, and lead a team when the graph is going down.
Modern product concepts, including product-led growth, continuous discovery, and empowered teams, are woven throughout. The course is designed to be accessible to associate PMs still building their foundation, and genuinely useful to senior PMs and product leaders who want sharper judgment in high-stakes environments.

I’m Paulo Garcia, a product leader and educator with over 10 years of experience building and scaling digital products across education, e-commerce, and marketplaces. I currently work as Principal of Product Management at Twinkl, where I help shape learning platforms such as the Learning Management System (LMS) and Curriculum Architect, used by teachers, learners, and schools.

Previously, I worked at FARFETCH and IKEA, contributing to global marketplace platforms, e-commerce and loyalty experiences, mobile apps, and internal tools that support large-scale operations. Alongside my product work, I teach and mentor on digital literacy, product thinking, and technology’s impact on everyday life, with a strong focus on practical, human-centred learning.

My career began with an MSc in Computer Science and has since evolved across multiple product disciplines, including UX and UI design, web development, project management, and product operations.

Uxcel is the best UX learning experience I’ve had! I’ve tried many platforms, but Uxcel is on another level. I love its digestible lessons, real-world guidance, and short quizzes that reinforce learning. And all of this comes at an extremely fair price!

I was amazed when I used Uxcel for the first time. The traditional e-learning platforms are tedious and boring with too much redundant information.
